I have been noticing an increase in the number of foods made with large amounts of palm oil. I learned to monitor foods years ago when my wife had to go on a strict diet. Over time, it initially looked like food were getting healthier since trans fats were being used less and less in food preparation. But it seems like I might have celebrated too soon.
Palm oil is replacing trans fats in many of the foods that we eat. The problem is that palm oil send to be about as bad for cholesterol as trans fats are.
